It was a close call between "Nebraska" and "Darkness". Totally agree with the other three and "The Rising". They are both similiar in some ways, certainly lyrically. If you like "Nebraska" I think you would like "Darkness". There are easier albums to listen to, if you are not sure where to start, like "The River" or "The Rising" which are both great albums but "Darkness" is more challenging and that's why I prefer it. I am probably similiar to yourself in that I shunned Springsteen for years and the more obscure the music was the better. But I am glad I took the plunge and discovered him later on.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03958875416084119469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5558790192994701740.post-16636396335925099932014-11-06T17:45:46.958+00:002014-11-06T17:45:46.958+00:00Hey Scott. This is tops for you, but do you think Darkness is the next one someone in my shoes should purchase, or do you think there are others that should be tackled before this one? I think I have had difficulty taking the plunge with Springsteen because he's just such an icon. Biggies like Bruce aren't usually my cup of tea. I have always been a swimming against the current type, but I'm quite certain I have missed some great albums with this way of thinking... trying to be a little more open minded.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04321051045499549249noreply@blogger.com
