Some Sunday Soul...
Left handed, guitar picking soul singer Barbara Lynn has featured before on Spools but I feel you can never have enough left handed, guitar picking soul singers on blogs so tonight she shall feature again with her debut release from 1962, You'll Lose A Good Thing that pushed the one and only Ray Charles off the top spot. Originally written as a poem that summed up her own experience of losing someone she loved, three years later that she was persuaded into putting it to music and recording it and the rest, as they say, is history. Maybe I should get that box of angst ridden pre pubescent poems out the loft and see if there anything worthwhile in there ? Then again, perhaps not...
