Some Sunday Soul...

Carla Thomas holds the distinction of being the first artist to cut a record at the Stax Records studio at 926 E. McLemore Avenue. Well, one of the first as she recorded that first song with her famous father, Rufus Thomas, at the age of only 17, when she was still at high school. A few months later she was firmly ensconced in the Top 10 with her first solo single, Gee Whiz (Look At His Eyes). She was a wonderful match for Otis on the King and Queen album, but is a beautiful singer in her own right who sang what she felt and emoted like few others before or since.

  2. Just got round to listening, Scott. Great song. Which someone, somewhere in a warm south-western European country might very well download
