With just two voices and two guitars, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings have managed to produce so much great music over the years that delivers something new and becomes more rewarding with each subsequent listen. The harmonies between them are sublime, the guitar playing is exemplary and compliments Gillian's vocals perfectly. There is a haunting quality to Gillian's voice that I could listen to all day long, sometimes reminiscent, to these ears, of the beautiful voice of Sandy Denny. Individually they sound great, together something magical happens. This is music performed by two artists that sound as though they are totally in love with what they do and were born to work together.
