Some Sunday Soul...

After several years singing with various bands, including The Deltones, Barbara Stephens recorded her first solo records for the Satellite label in the early 1960's. From what I can gather she only recorded three singles with them before parting company for 'irreconciliable differences'. Pity as all three singles are great soul tracks, including today's choice, That's The Way It Is With Me. This was the last of the three singles she recorded and is my own personal fave of the tracks she laid down for Satellite. All the tracks she recorded for Stax are available on a Stax/Satellite compilation that I picked up recently called Wait A Minute, that also includes the likes of William Bell, Carla Thomas and The Mar-Keys.

That's The Way It Is With Me

Some Sunday Soul is taking a break for a short while, to return at some point in the future. But, fret not, there will still be Soul postings on Spools, just not every Sunday. If, however, your weekend is not complete without some quality Soul Sounds, head over to the always Soulful Charity Chic Music for your weekly helping.

    1. Hi George, it's mainly because, for the first time in years, I am working most Sundays these days. Rest assured there will still be regular soul posts.

    1. Hi CC, I think it's safe to say Soul Sunday could not be in better hands. If you're ever short of material will be glad to help out if I can.
