Our Day Will Come...

Ruby And The Romantics are often overlooked in the ranks of the great vocal groups. Quite why that should be is just another of life's great mysteries. The combination of the sweet, melodic vocals of Ruby Nash and the flawless, tight harmonies of her four male backing vocalists is just an absolute joy to listen to. They might only have had the one hit, but a listen to a collection of their songs testifies to the fact that there was so much more to them than Our Day Will Come. In saying that, one listen to Our Day Will Come and it's easy to hear why it was such a huge hit and why it has been recorded by so many others over the years, most notably a stunning cover from the much missed Amy Winehouse. The original was recorded in two different versions, with the bossa nova styled one being released as a single and becoming a million plus seller in the process.Timeless, magical and more than worthy of that well used cliche 'They just don't make 'em like that any more'.
